Udi Helman, PhD is an independent consultant on renewable energy and storage technologies as well as wholesale market design and performance. He works with renewable companies, research organizations and governmental entities, and has extensive publications. He was previously Managing Director, Economic and Pricing Analysis at BrightSource Energy (2011-2013).Before that, he was a Principal focused on market design and policy analysis at the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) (2007-2010).He also worked for almost 10 years on wholesale market design at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, D.C (1997-2007). His first paper on climate change was published in 1990.His PhD is in applied economics and systems analysis from The Johns Hopkins University.
