Tatiana Pyatina

Dr. Pyatina is a materials scientist with 20 years of industrial and research experience in product design, development, and commercialization for subterranean wells. For over ten years she worked as a senior development engineer with Schlumberger Inc., developing and commercializing products and technologies for cementing underground wells. In 2011 she joined geothermal group at Brookhaven National Laboratory focusing on evaluation, design, and development of materials for geothermal wells. She has worked on HT elastomeric materials, thermal-shock resistant cement, self-healing and re-adhering cementitious composites, and materials for energy storage wells. This year the group started a new project in collaboration with six European partners on cementitious materials for super-critical geothermal wells. Dr. Pyatina obtained her Ph.D. in environmental engineering and chemistry from California Institute of Technology.
