Jon Trujillo has been in the geothermal industry for 13 years at BHE Renewables’ ten geothermal plants at the Salton Sea geothermal resource in California. Jon has held a variety of technical and management roles for drilling operations, resource management, and filter cake landfill operations. Jon is leading the investigation of geothermal expansion opportunities in California for BHE Renewables. In addition, Jon is Geothermal Rising’s board president and is the co-founder of the Southern California Geothermal Rising section, featuring a coalition of over 110 individuals representing private industry, local and state government, and regulatory agencies. Prior to finding his passion for the geothermal industry, Jon’s work experience includes mineral exploration in Latin America, GIS, geochemistry, and geologic modeling. Jon’s bachelor’s degree and graduate work are in Geosciences from the University of Missouri – Rolla and Virginia Tech, respectively. Jon has also taken graduate-level courses in finance, accounting, and organizational behavior.
