Catrin A. Law is currently a post-bachelors research intern in the Waste Vitrification Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Before joining PNNL, Catrin graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2020. She has been accepted into the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor’s Rackham Graduate School for Fall 2022, where she will pursue a Ph. D. in Chemistry. Ms. Law ‘s undergraduate research focused on the use of microfluidic devices for the detection of nicotine in third-hand smoke using aptamers and liquid-liquid extraction. Her current post-bachelor’s research concerns the design and optimization of mesofluidic devices for silica and mineral precipitate removal from geothermal brines in order to reduce geothermal plant cost, improve plant flexibility and facilitate downstream minerals extraction.
