Bill Heins is Chief Geoscientist at Getech, a UK-based firm supplying geophysical data, palaeoenvironmental reconstructions, and bespoke geological and geospatial analysis for natural resource explorers and alternative energy providers. Bill began his 36-year career as a management consultant with the Strategic Management Group (now part of BTS), working with leading technology companies like ABB, Ciba-Geigy, and ITT on strategy development and competitor analysis. After earning a PhD in Geology from UCLA, he served as a university professor at Vassar College and Lewis-Clark State College, before joining ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company in 2001. At ExxonMobil Bill explored for conventional and unconventional resources, primarily in frontier basins. Since 2019 Bill ensures that Getech geoscience supports clients to locate resources and deliver energy.
