Jaclyn Urbank graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. She has been at POWER Engineers for over 10 years becoming the first woman to step into the lead geothermal process modeling role. She has directly contributed to the conceptual and detailed design for over 300 MW of new geothermal power plants commissioned worldwide in the past decade. Continuing with her father Karl Urbank’s geothermal heritage, Jaclyn is passionate about geothermal and the benefits that clean, renewable and baseload power is bringing to the world. Jaclyn has worked on a wide spectrum of projects ranging from early geothermal project development, feasibility and FEED studies, Owner’s and Independent Engineering, detailed design and performance assessments for flash, binary and other innovative power station solutions. Her travels have brought her to geothermal hotspots such as New Zealand, Costa Rica, Turkey and beyond, but her current additional role as lead client manager for the United States has kept her working more on operating plant solutions here. Through her involvement in the industry and the Geothermal Rising organization, Jaclyn hopes to raise awareness and diversity to the wide-ranging new talent interested in driving geothermal development.
