Shimatoshi Sakuma is currently a second year Master’s course student in the Graduate School of International Resource Sciences at Akita University, Japan. His research interests include various drilling technologies for oil & gas, and geothermal energy development, particularly for new formulation of high-temperature and high-corrosion resistant cement system for supercritical geothermal well drilling and completion. He is now working on long-term curing experiments for the developing new cement system to evaluate its physical and chemical properties. After completing his graduate studies, he plans to work at INPEX corporation, an oil & gas exploration, development and production company in Japan. He received his B.S. degree in International Resource Sciences from Akita University.
