Jake Sacks is a PhD student in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington (UW), working with Dr. Byron Boots. His research centers around machine learning for time series, dynamical systems, and control, from applications in robotics to geothermal drilling. He moved to UW from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), where he was an Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) PhD student. He received his Masters degree in ECE from Georgia Tech and his Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He was a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) fellow from 2015 to 2017.
