Dr. Amanda Kolker is a Research Scientist with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). She leads research projects around geothermal resource assessment and innovative utilization of geothermal energy. She has 15 years of experience as a geothermal geologist, specializing in resource exploration and sustainable geothermal energy production for heat and power. With a volcanology and geochemistry background but interdisciplinary interests and approaches, Amanda’s research activities span from low-temperature to supercritical geothermal resourcesto energy resilience to district heating and cooling systems. In addition, Kolker serves as a thought leader in renewable energy strategy and integration efforts at NREL. Kolker holds a Doctorate in Geology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and has been with NREL for 2 and a half years.
