Sara Ishikawa is a first year Master’s course student in the Graduate School of International Resource Sciences at Akita University, Japan under the supervision of Professor Shigemi Naganawa. Her research interests include various drilling technologies in oil & gas, and geothermal developments, particularly for safe downhole cooling by mud circulation in high-temperature geothermal wells. She is now working on analysis of drilling problems in high-temperature geothermal wells through wellbore temperature simulation to optimize the operation conditions for safe drilling. She presented her previous research result at a Japanese domestic conference on petroleum technology, and now preparing a manuscript for journal publication. She received her B.S. degree in International Resource Sciences from Akita University.
