Akira Hoshino is currently a second year Master’s course student in the Graduate School of International Resource Sciences at Akita University, Japan. His research interests include various drilling technologies in oil & gas, and geothermal developments, particularly for effective downhole cooling by mud circulation for supercritical geothermal wells. He is now working on downhole temperature simulation during cementing to propose a cementing operation guideline for long-term integrity of supercritical geothermal wells. After completing his graduate studies, he plans to work at Geothermal Engineering Co., Ltd., a Japanese geothermal development company in Tohoku area, Japan. He received his B.S. degree in International Resource Sciences from Akita University.
