Dr. William W. Fleckenstein (Will) currently serves as the Director of Strategic Business Development, Office of Global Initiatives and Business Development, and is a Professor of Practice in the Colorado School of Mines Petroleum Engineering Dept.Will has 33 years’ experience in primarily drilling, completions and workovers, with direct experience on over 200 wells.Will’s first experience in with Geothermal was working as a roughneck on wells near the Salton Sea in California.Later, Will was involved in planning his first horizontal well in 1990 and is currently a Registered Engineer in California. Will was appointed in 2000 as an Adjunct Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Mines, where he also served as Petroleum Engineering Interim Department Head from 2012-2014. Will holds BSc, ME, and PhD degrees in petroleum engineering from Mines. Will received the Mines 2013 Faculty and Staff Philanthropy Award and was named Mines Inventor of the Year Award in 2018.He was an SPE Distinguished Lecturer in 2017-18 and received the 2019 SPE Rocky Mountain Region Completions Optimization and Technology Award. Dr. Fleckenstein also has served as the Board Chair for the Credit Union of Colorado since 2009.
