Joel has studied the geologic controls of geothermal resources and the evolution of subduction zones for over a decade, using a mix of geologic, geophysical and remote sensing data. He is the co-founder of Zanskar Geothermal & Minerals, Inc. a geoscience-first startup focused on building geostatistical and seismological tools to improve exploration and development outcomes of geothermal resources. He received a PhD in Earth Science from the University of California Santa Cruz, a MS in Geology from the University of Nevada Reno and a BS in Geology from Brigham Young University.
